Transforming broken generations to pursue Jesus Christ above all daily.

Vision:

LHCC's Vision is to make mature disciples and faithful servants who love Jesus Christ and love other people. Serving, building relationships with one another and non-believers. Experiencing real change by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, living by faith in Jesus, and obeying the World of God as final authority. For the Holy Spirit to replace our broken human nature with the nature of Christ. Being light and salt to the world by living a transformed life.

Core Beliefs

Bible: We believe the Bible (OT/NT) is the Word of God as the final authority of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
God: We believe in God the Father who is the creator of the world. God is the one and only true God. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! (Gen. 1:1, 1 Tim. 2:5, Jer. 10:10; 1 Cor. 8: 4, 6; 1 Tim. 2:5, 6:15; 1 Jn. 5:20)
Jesus Christ: We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross to pay for our sins, raised bodily from the dead, is now seated at the Father's right side, and will soon return to earth. (Acts 4:12; 1 Cor. 15:3-8, 25-29, 51-57; Heb. 4:15).
Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every Christian, helps us, guides us, being our counselor, and the Holy Spirit is a seal that guarantees that we belong to God (1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 2 Timothy 1:14; John 14:16-17, 16:7-13; Romans 8:26-27; Ephesians 1:13-14).
Salvation: According to the Bible, human beings have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and the wage of sin is death. (Romans 3:23; 6:23) We can be saved and have eternal life in Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23). We cannot earn our salvation, but we can have salvation by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:7-9).
Church: The Church is the Body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23). All Christians are members of Christ's body and God's spiritual family (1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 2:19). The Church includes many members, united and working together as one body (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph 4:1-16). All believers must be united to teach others about Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:18-20; Jn. 17:20-21). The purpose of the Church's gatherings is to support and encourage one another, to join in fellowship and teaching, to give thanks to God, and to participate in the Lord's Supper (Acts 2:42–47; Acts 20:7; Col. 3:16; Heb. 10:25; Lk. 22:19). Believers are to give genuinely from our hearts (1 Cor. 16:2; 2 Cor. 8:12, 9:6-7). Believers are to live by faith and show their faith through obedience and good works (Col. 1:21-23; Jam. 2:14-26; 1 Jn. 2:3-6; Eph. 2:10)

Being in prayer and Spirit led in all that we do

● Prayer: During Jesus Christ’s ministry, before Jesus did or made a very important decision, He always communicated with God the Father in prayer. All ministries and activities we do at LHCC, we take it to the Lord first (Matt. 7:7-11; 14:23; 26:36, 39; Lk. 5:16; 6:12; Mk. 1:35; Jn. 16:26).

Being biblically shaped by Scripture and through our personal relationship with Jesus

● Biblical Preaching and Teaching: The Bible is the Word of God, it is good for teaching, reproof, correction and for training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

● Obey God’s commands: The Bible teaches that Christians should obey God’s commands even though we do not agree because God knows what is good for us. LHCC is committed to teach and train every believer to do and follow it (Exod. 19:5; Isa. 1:19; Lk. 6:46; Jn. 14:15; 1 Jn. 5:3; Acts 5:29; 1 Pet. 1:14; Matt. 28:20; Jam. 1:22).

● Loving God and loving one another: The Bible teaches that Christians should love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and love one another as Jesus Christ had loved us. The love of God which was unconditionally love. Christians should follow His example of love (Deut. 6:5, 11:1, 13:3; Josh. 22:5; Ps. 31:23, 97:10, 116:1; Jn. 13:14, Jn 15; Matt. 22:37-38; Eph. 4:29; 1 Cor. 8:3; Heb. 6:10; 2 Thess. 3:5; 2 Pet. 1:5-7; James 2:5; 1 Jn. 2:5, 4:9-10, 4:17, 4:19-20, 5:3; Jude 21).

● Pray to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, baptized, (Mk 16:16; Rom. 10:9-10, 10: 17; Mt. 1:21; Acts 2:38, 20:21)

Being intentional in building authentic relationships

● Build relationships with the unchurched: As Christians we are always looking for a good opportunity to build relationships with non-Christians, so we can share the love of God and give His only Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins, whoever believes in Him will have eternal life through having faith in Jesus Christ. (Jn. 3:16).

● Discipleship (Men, Women, Children, Young Adults) (Matt. 4:18-22, Lk. 5:1-11; Jn. 1:35-51).

Being generous stewards of all of God’s resources

● Serving God and serving one another: Living Hope Christian Church is a community of believers with different talents, and we desire to use our gifts to serve God and one another in love (Deut. 10:12; Ps. 100:2; Matt. 20:28, 25: 14-30, 40; Acts 13:36; Gal. 5:13; 1 Pet. 4:10-11). ● Give Generously: Giving is a part of Christians spiritual faith and depends on Jesus Christ to provide. The Old and New Testaments teach that, Christians are encouraged to give generously to support the ministry of Living Hope Christian Church (Lev. 25:35-37; Deut. 15:7-8; Ps. 41:1-3, 119:36; Prov. 11:24-25, 19:17, 22:9; Lk. 6:37-38, 21:1-4; Matt. 6:18-21, Matt. 10:42; John 3:16; 1 John 2: 5-6; 2 Cor. 9:6-8; Gal. 6:2; 1 Tim. 6:17-19; Acts 20:32-35)

Dr. Solomon Txooj Xyoob Her

Lead Pastor

Dr. Her was born in Laos and came to the United States as a teen. While in Laos, his family practiced Shamanism and ancestors worshipping. After arriving in the United States, Dr. Her began attending church. Dr. Her was convinced by pastors and studied the Bible that God incarnated in the human form in Jesus Christ (Jn 8:58; 10:30). Dr. Her had a passion for Christ and decided to obey His commands. After high school, he attended bible college and seminaries and wanted to become a servant of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Her is the lead pastor of Living Hope Christian Church. Dr. Her holds a Doctor of Ministry in Congregational Ministry from Lincoln Christian University of Illinois, a Master of Divinity from Bethel University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor in Biblical Studies and Theology Studies from Minnesota Bible College in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Her had served Hmong Christian Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin for over twenty years before he came to plant Living Hope Christian Church with five other families in Woodbury, Minnesota. Dr. Her is married to Dr. Teresa Moua-Her and has six children (Isaiah, Rachael, Jacqueline, James, Charlene, and Grace). Dr. Her enjoys playing soccer and ping pong with friends during his leisure time.

Our Team

RIA VANG

(Elder)

Ria was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. He came from a family that practiced Shamanism. As a kid, he went to a church program called Kids Connection once a week. He used to go for cookies and juice. But eventually, all those songs and lessons about God impacted his life.

As a teenager, he studied the Bible with pastor Steve Countryman. Then, after months of Bible study together, he decided to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and get baptized.

He is married to Pang Her and has four children (Ci Ntsa, Chivkeeb, Hnub Txhis, Huab Kaj). He enjoys playing volleyball, football, and video games during his leisure time.

SEN CHANG

(Elder)

Sen was born in Saint Paul, MN, the 5th child of nine in a huge, broken family. He was introduced to God due to passionate Woodbury Church of Christ members. They wanted to minister to people in the inner city and spread the gospel of its salvation to God’s children. At first, it was all just games and something to do. Then, it eventually became life and a way of living. He gave his life to Christ at nine and has never turned back since.

He is married to Bai Thao Chang, and they have two boys, Charlie and Chase. Sen has been a Firefighter Paramedic for Saint Paul since 2019. He loves working and serving the community. He also enjoys being outdoors and playing sports.

BOWBYE HER

(Secretary)

Bowbye was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. At 19, she gave her life to Christ after a campus ministry staff shared the gospel with her, shaping her faith journey.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota - Duluth, where she dedicated her time to campus ministry, launching movements, and raising the next generation of Asian American student leaders in their walk with Christ. In time, she felt God calling her to be more grounded.

By day, she navigates helping others at the county; by weekends, she helps clients navigate home showings. Bowbye loves spending time with her nieces and nephew, a café goer and attending concerts.

DIANA THAO

(Event Planner/Women's Ministry)

Diana was born and raised in San Diego, California. She moved to Minnesota in 1999 and grew up in a shaman/traditional Hmong household.

Most challenging part for Diana was breaking from her parent's beliefs and choosing to follow Christ. She is first generation Christian and had previously attended Urban Ministry around 2006 when she gave her life to Christ on April 2010.

Diana is currently attending with Living Hope Christian Church. She is married to A Thao and have four children, Azariah, Jeremiah, Ariella and Elijah.

As she deepens her spiritual journey through practice, she has learned to remain still in His presence, allowing her to gain clarity on her purpose to better serve in His kingdom. On her free time, she enjoys crafting and sewing.

PANG HER

(Event Planner)

Pang was born and raised in Basehor, Kansas. She is the youngest of 10 kids and is the only daughter. She became a third-generation Christian at the age of 16, when she was baptized at Standing Stones Youth Camp in 2008.

With the loss of her father at age 12, she longed for the guidance and presence only a father could give. Attending church regularly growing up and being involved with the worship team has given her hope that there is a Father in Heaven who will take care of her. Pang is happily married to Ria Vang and has four amazing children.

TERESA MOUA-HER

(Children's Ministry)

For the past 25 years, Teresa has faithfully served in a variety of roles within the church. Her greatest joy has been leading and ministering to women, children, and youth. Her journey of faith began with the Bus Ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie, Wisconsin—a ministry she is deeply grateful for, as it introduced her to the love of Christ. At the age of 13, she accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized at 15.

By 18, she began serving alongside her husband, Dr. Solomon Txooj Xyoob Her, at Hmong Christian Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where God began shaping her character through ministry. Over the years, Teresa has continued to grow in faith and spiritual maturity, with a heart to help transform broken generations—like her own—by leading them to pursue Jesus Christ above all else.

She is passionate about guiding the next generation to know Christ, believing that young disciples are vital to keeping churches alive and thriving. With God as her foundation, she also feels called to encourage women who face the daily challenges of balancing many roles in life.

Teresa is married to Living Hope’s Lead Pastor, Dr. Solomon Txooj Xyoob Her. Together, they are blessed with six children: Isaiah, Rachael, Jacqueline, James, Charlene & Grace. She is also a caretaker of her nearly 100-year-old mother-in-law. Teresa enjoys her daily cup of coffee, and in her free time, she loves reading, soaking in the sun, and listening to calming music.

KAI THAO

(Men's Ministry)

Kai was born in Chiang Kham refugee camp in Thailand and immigrated to the US when he was only one year old. Kai has lived in Minnesota his whole life. Kai likes to do outdoors activities like fishing and camping. He also Enjoy family gatherings and loves his nieces and nephews.

Kai is the 7th child in a family of 10 siblings. One of his favorite bible verse is Psalm 1:1-6.

Psalm 1:1-6

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruits in the seaon, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

5 There fore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;

6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
